Levenmouth » Leven to Lower Largo
Along the coast in search of art, history and Robinson Crusoe.
This trail will take you from Leven town centre and railway station along to the Largo Villages. Designed for walkers and cyclists, this route will take about ninety minutes.
The quickest way from Leven to Largo is to simply follow the beach! However, at high tide, or with more water in the streams, this can lead to wet feet. Our route is all weather, all tide, though good shoes are advised as we’ll be on gravel for much of the journey.
For those who use wheelchairs, this route is not advised. However there is a regular bus service to take you to both Lundin Links and Lower Largo. Or you may follow the main road which has a pavement for the full duration.
Lower Largo has a wheelchair (and mobility scooter) accessible discovery trail which you’ll be able to take part in.
This trail starts from Leven, either from the railway station, the bus station or the Leven Swimming Pool, all within a stone’s throw of each other. We’ll be working our way to the promenade by the beach.
On this route, we’ll be exploring the Fife Coastal Path, Silverburn Park, Leven town centre and much more! We’ll see where the famous Jack Vettriano used to work and the landscapes he was inspired by. We’ll visit the stunning Silverburn Park, home to the best scones in Fife. And we’ll cross a couple of Golf Courses – so watch out for stray balls!
As you go around the trail, tap the ‘previous’ and ‘next’ arrows to move between points. The picture at the top of the page is shows you where you should be.
If the map does not show your current position when you click “Show My Location” , check your phone browser setting and allow Location.
If there’s more than one of you with a smartphone, you can use the What3Words app to help you navigate. It’s free to download – type in the what3words location, tap “use compass” and it will help you find your way. Though remember, this will point to the exact location, not necessarily following the right path, so use the map on each page to help you.
