Continue along Commercial Street past Croft Road and as the road gets narrow look for two blue plaques on buildings to commemorate notable people from Markinch. The scientist was responsible for the revolutionary drug Zantac, and the potato breeder for developing many strains of blight resistant seed potatoes that helped us survive both world wars.
Put the first name of the scientist with the last name of the potato pioneer. This is your 18th and last answer, well done on completing the trail!
Keep walking up Commercial Street and go into the garden area. You’ll find an information board here where you can read about the town’s conservation area. Then turn right towards the church which is well worth a visit, and go down Kirk Brae back to Glass Street Car Park.
