One of Burntisland’s hidden gems, these ruins date from the early 13th century.
Kirkton ceased to be the parish church around 1592 when Burntisland Parish Church was built.
Today, Kirkton Church is a ruin consisting of a nave and choir with one side aisle and it is a great example of how a simple parish church looked many years ago. In 2015, Burntisland Community Council and Fife Council carried out restoration work on the church ruins to make them accessible to visitors.
From the church retrace your steps and head back to the High Street where you’ll find some lovely places to stop for food and drink and great independent shops.
