This 18th century industrial building is situated within the grounds of Adam’s former home. It is a rare surviving example of the once common rig buildings in Kirkcaldy. It is a category C listed building and was acquired by the Adam Smith Global Foundation in 2013 and restored in two phases. It is now called the Adam Smith Heritage Centre and contains an exhibition about Adam Smith which tells the story of his life and his legacy beyond. There is a small gift shop too and the upstairs is office space.
When you leave turn right and head to the Waterfront.
