The Alhambra Theatre is a beautiful 1920s theatre which was fully restored and upgraded several years ago. It was originally designed as a dual-purpose entertainment venue for theatrical performances and cinema.
Over the years it has functioned as a cinema, then a bingo hall before coming back to its original purpose as a wonderful venue for live performances.
Many famous performers have appeared on the stage and in August 1928 the then Duke & Duchess of York, later King George VI, and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) were given The Freedom Of Dunfermline on the Alhambra’s stage. There is a royal crest above the entrance to commemorate the event.
